IND v NZ 2023: WATCH- Siraj's mother wishes he plays in ODI World Cup after watching his heroics in 1st ODI

Mohammed Siraj played his first international match at his home ground in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj was the major attraction during the first ODI against New Zealand, as he enjoyed a great time at his home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, on Wednesday (January 18).

Siraj not only entertained the Hyderabad crowd with his stunning bowling performance during Team India’s 12-run win over New Zealand in the first ODI but also made his parents and family proud, who were in the stadium to cheer for the star speedster.

The pacer yet again delivered a match-winning performance for the Men in Blue, as he returned with stunning figures of 4/46 in his 10 overs, including 2 maiden overs against the Black Caps in Hyderabad.

After the match, BCCI shared a video of Siraj’s family and his friends, who were sharing their thoughts on the Indian pacer’s brilliant performance, as he played his first international match on his home ground.

In the video, Siraj’s mother, Shabana Begum, can be heard saying that her son can hopefully make it to the Indian squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 at home. Siraj’s friends, with whom he played cricket, were also seen wishing the Indian pacer good luck for his future.

Siraj’s mother said, “I would like to thank Allah and hope that Siraj can continue to shine for India. Hopefully, he can continue his performances and make it into the World Cup squad.”
