Chakravarthy named in Indian squad for England T20I series.
Tamil Nadu mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been included in the 19-member Team India squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England.
India cricket great Sachin Tendulkar congratulated Chakravarthy for getting named in the squad announced by BCCI on Saturday (February 20).
Apart from the Kolkata Knight Riders spinner, Mumbai Indians duo Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and IPL sensation Rahul Tewatia got their maiden call-up to the Indian team.
Chakravarthy was delighted to get congratulated by Tendulkar on Twitter. He thanked him and called his good wishes equal to blessings. "Thank you @sachin_rt sir this means alot to me.. will take your good wishes along with me as blessings forever", he tweeted.
"Congratulations to @surya_14kumar @ishankishan51 @rahultewatia02," the tweet further read.
The 29-year-old was included in the T20I squad for the Australia tour after picking 5/20 against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020. But unfortunately, he got ruled out because of injury and T Natarajan had replaced him, who went on to make his debut on the tour.
India will play a five-match T20I series against England, starting on March 12. All the matches will be hosted by Sardar Patel stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad .
