Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was truly unlucky to miss out on a potential century on day 3 of the first Test against England in Chennai. His dismissal was one of the rarest ones seen out there.

India was teetering on 73/4 with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane back in the hut. This is when Cheteshwar Pujara was joined by Rishabh Pant at the crease and the duo counter-attacked beautifully. Pujara-Pant added 119 runs for the 5th wicket with Pujara making 73 runs.

He was looking good for a century, but then fate struck. He pulled a short ball from Dom Bess, which hit Ollie Pope on the shoulder at short-leg and the ball lobbed to Rory Burns at mid-wicket, who took a simple catch to send Pujara back. The Indian batsman was distraught while walking to the pavilion.
