Hardik Pandya made his ODI captaincy debut in the first game against Australia.
Hardik got the opportunity to lead India in the 50-over series opener as regular skipper Rohit Sharma missed the game due to the wedding of his brother-in-law.
Pandya was captaining a star-studded Indian team as the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were part of the playing XI.
During the match, a video surfaced on social media, in which Hardik, Kohli and Kuldeep were spotted conversing. In the viral clip, the stand-in Indian captain can be seen leaving the conversation even before Virat could finish his part.

Coming to the match, India bundled out Australia for a paltry 188 in 35.4 overs after opting to bowl first. Mohammad Shami (3/17), Mohammed Siraj (3/29) and Ravindra Jadeja (2/46) were the wrecker-in-chief with the ball, sharing eight wickets among them.
In reply, India were struggling at 83/5 before KL Rahul (75* off 91 balls) and Jadeja (45* off 69 balls) produced responsible knocks to take the hosts over the line with 10.1 overs to spare.
