Travis Head was finally dismissed for 90 runs by Akshar Patel.
India batter Virat Kohli was heard on stump mic teasing umpire Nitin Menon in an interesting conversation on day 5 of the ongoing fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad.
Australia scored 480 in their first innings thanks to Usman Khawaja’s 180 and the maiden Test ton by Cameron Green. India replied in kind making 591 with Shubman Gill making 128 and Virat Kohli scoring his first Test century after 1205 days, hitting a scintillating 186 runs.
Meanwhile, umpire Nitin Menon came in for some heat when R Ashwin thought that he had Travis Head out LBW. On the 4th ball of the 14th over, Head barely survived a close call, when Ashwin hit him on the pads, as he lunged forward in defense. Despite the loud appeal, Menon ruled him not out.
Ashwin was confident about his appeal as Rohit said it hit the pads and they went up for a review. The ball landed on the middle and leg, Head tried to play forward and missed the line. The UltraEdge confirmed that no bat was involved.

The ball tracker showed the ball wouldn’t have turned much. And hence it was just clipping the sticks. Head survived a close call.
Reacting to the same, Kohli’s response came in Hindi, as he said: “Mai Hota To Out De Deta”. To which Nitin Menon just smiled and gestured with the out signal and a thumbs up.
