India will face Australia in WTC 2023 final at the Oval from June 7.
This happened thanks to New Zealand’s thrilling last-ball win over Sri Lanka in the first of the two Tests which was played in Christchurch. Sri Lanka needed to win both games to have any hopes of making it to the final.
India will now take on Australia in the much-anticipated final later this year. The result of the ongoing Test between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad won’t be making any difference to the ICC WTC Points Table now.
The two sides will now clash in the final at the Oval in London from June 7-11. India had played in the final of the last WTC cycle as well, losing to New Zealand in Southampton.
After Sri Lanka lost the first Test, and India qualified for the final of the ICC WTC 2023, Virat Kohli was seen shaking hands and congratulating his teammates as the Indian team came out on the field after the lunch break on day five in Ahmedabad.
