India batter Virat Kohli was not a happy person on day two of the ongoing second Test against Australia in Delhi as he was given out LBW but the decision was contentious despite the DRS review.

The hosts resumed the day on 21/0, but soon lost KL Rahul for 17, Lyon then picked Rohit Sharma’s wicket as well for 32, and then Cheteshwar Pujara fell for a duck in his 100th Test and India was teetering at 54/3. It soon became 66/4 as Shreyas Iyer also fell to Lyon for 4 runs.

But then Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja added 59 runs for the 5th wicket, but then Todd Murphy had Jadeja LBW for 26. But the big wicket Kohli was still there and he hit some shots as well.

But on 44, Kohli played a forward defense to Matthew Kuhnemann and the bowler went straight up for appeal and on-field umpire Nitin Menon gave Kohli out LBW. Kohli immediately went for the DRS and showed his bat signaling there was an inside edge.

TV umpire Richard Illingworth took his time and viewed replays from various angles and Ultra Edge detected a spike as the ball is close to the bat. Front replay suggested that the ball hit the pad and the bat simultaneously, before hitting the back pad.

Illingworth reckoned that it was indeed pad first and after the ball tracker returned the umpire’s call, Kohli was given the marching orders. This was also Kuhnemann's maiden wicket on their Test debut.

He then watched the replays in the dressing room and angrily reacted pointing out that it hit the bat first and it was kind of inconclusive.
