Jadeja completed 250 wickets in Test cricket.
India and Australia are battling it out in the second Test of the four-match Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 in Delhi on February 17, 2023 and saw Australia batting first after captain Pat Cummins won the toss.
Australia made two changes in the XI with Travis Head coming in for Matt Renshaw and Michael Kuhnemann made his Test debut as Australia went with three genuine spinners in the side. India made one change as Shreyas Iyer came into the XI, replacing Suryakumar Yadav.
Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb were the stars with the bat for the visitors as they scored 81 and 72* while Pat Cummins contributed 33 runs as Australia posted 263 runs in their first innings. For India, Mohammad Shami took 4/60, while Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin picked three wickets each.
Jadeja completed a huge milestone as he went past the 250-wicket mark in Tests and it was a spell for him to remember. It was made more memorable thanks to a cheeky remark from Virat Kohli.
During the 64th over of Australia's innings, Virat Kohli made a comment from slips which was caught on stump-mic. In a viral video, Kohli can be clearly heard shouting, "Chal Pathaan. Shabaash. Chal Pathaan out karke de".
Maybe this was due to Ravindra Jadeja’s new hairstyle which resembles that of Shah Rukh Khan in his latest blockbuster movie ‘Pathaan’, or maybe the Saurashtra all-rounder has a new moniker in the dressing room.
