Apart from the one-sided contest, fans witnessed a strange moment in the series-deciding third ODI between West Indies and Australia at Barbados on Monday (July 26).

During the 18th over of Australia’s innings, West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard gave Matthew Wade a warning to get back in his crease instead of running him out at the non-striker’s end.

The Australian was backing up a little at the non-strikers’ end and Pollard had the option to knock off his bails to ‘Mankad’ him out but he decided against it. Instead, the Caribbean captain pulled up in his bowling action and told Wade to stay in his crease.

Coming to the match, Australia thrashed West Indies by six wickets to clinch the ODI series 2-1.

Chasing the paltry target of 153, the visitors rode on Matthew Wade’s unbeaten 52-ball 51 and skipper Alex Carey’s 35 to get over the line with 117 balls to spare.

Earlier, the hosts got bowled out for 152 in 45.1 overs. It was a listless performance from the West Indies as none of the batters except for Evin Lewis (55*) managed to touch the 20-run mark.

For Australia, Mitchell Starc (3-43) claimed three wickets while Josh Hazlewood (2-18), Adam Zampa (2-29) and Ashton Agar (2-31) picked up two scalps each.
