WI v AUS 2021: Second ODI suspended after positive COVID-19 case emerges

Australia had won the toss and opted to bat first.

The second ODI between West Indies and Australia was suspended moments before the start after a positive COVID-19 case emerged. Australia won the toss and opted to bat before the players were forced to go back in.

All the personnel in the bio-bubble will have to now go into isolation. The final ODI's fate is yet to be decided. West Indies are set to host Pakistan after this series for five T20Is and two Tests, while Australia are scheduled to tour Bangladesh for five T20Is.

The visitors had handed a maiden ODI cap to Riley Meredith who will have to now wait for his first bowl in the format for Australia, who lead the series 1-0 after winning the first ODI by 133 runs (DLS method) courtesy Mitchell Starc's five-wicket haul.
