Pakistan were bundled out for just 141 runs against a second-string England side.
England thrashed Pakistan in the first ODI at Cardiff on Thursday (July 8). They chased down the target of 142 in just 21.5 overs and won the match by 9 wickets. Dawid Malan (68*) and Zak Crawley (58*) posted an unbeaten partnership of 120 runs for the second wicket to take them home.
England were forced to select a new squad for the ODI series against Pakistan after their initial squad went into isolation following a COVID-19 outbreak a day after the ODI series against Sri Lanka at Bristol.
The hosts played with five debutants in the first ODI; Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Lewis Gregory, Phil Salt, and John Simpson. But the second-string side was enough to crush Pakistan comfortably.
The Babar Azam-led side got roasted on social media for an embarrassing performance as they were bowled out on just 141 runs. Some fans took a jibe at Pakistan and wrote that they are waiting for minnows to come back in form.
