India won the Oval Test by 6 runs and leveled the five-match series 2-2.
Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India, rarely has a smile on his face, let alone much less enthusiastic jubilation. However, Gambhir was unable to control his emotions in the dressing room when the Indian team defeated England by a slim margin of 6 runs at the Kennington Oval on Monday.
As India's bowling coach Morne Morkel watched an overjoyed Gambhir in the air after Mohammed Siraj took the game-winning wicket of Gus Atkinson in the middle, Gambhir, who is known for his serious manner no matter the situation, let it free.
A video of the dressing room events after India's thrilling victory was posted by the BCCI. According to the footage, Gambhir screamed uncontrollably before leaping into Morne Morkel's arms like a baby.
In a segment of the video, Gambhir could also be seen teary-eyed, with the emotion encapsulating what the victory meant to him.

England lost three quick wickets on the morning of day five, despite some bludgeoning blows by Jamie Overton. With the last wicket, Chris Woakes coming out to bat with his left arm in a sling due to a shoulder separation, all eyes were on Gus Atkinson, as England needed very few runs to win.
Before the pivotal moment, Gambhir delivered a few orders to his troops while peeking out the window. As Mohammed Siraj, who by that time was breathing fire, charged at Atkinson, Gambhir and the rest of the coaching staff watched in anticipation.
Atkinson's reckless swipe was thwarted by Siraj's scorching yorker, which removed the off stump from its position and gave India a six-run victory that tied the series. With this, India managed to level the five-Test series against England 2-2.
