This six-run win was India's narrowest victory in Tests by runs.
Centuries by Joe Root and Harry Brook had put England in a position of advantage coming into day 5 as they looked to chase 374 runs. England resumed on day five from 339/6, with India needing four wickets to win and England needing 35 runs.
Mohammed Siraj removed Jamie Smith for 2 runs and then had Jamie Overton for 8 runs.
