Sai Sudharsan was dismissed for 11 runs, LBW to Gus Atkinson.
An already exciting day that saw 15 wickets fall—the most in a single day of the series thus far—was made even more dramatic by the angry exchange.
When Gus Atkinson trapped Sudharsan in front with a delivery that stayed low and slipped into the pads in the 18th over of India's second innings, it was the flashpoint.
Despite having a long conversation with his spouse, Sudharsan decided to reexamine the decision because it seemed straightforward. What most people had thought was confirmed by replays: no bat, throwing outside off, impact in line, and crashing into the leg stump.
However, Ben Duckett allegedly muttered something that halted Sudharsan in his tracks as he turned to leave.
Words were obviously being spoken as the two cricket players faced each other in a heated dispute. Before things got worse, Harry Brook and Ollie Pope had to intervene and defuse the situation.
