Jadeja has scored 4 half-centuries in last two Tests against England in ongoing series.
India's head coach, Gautam Gambhir, led the chorus of admiration for veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, hailing his gallant effort in the Lord's Test against England as an "incredible fight".
Despite India losing by 22 runs in a hard-fought third Test, Jadeja's unbroken 61 off 181 balls earned him the title of Team India's Most Valuable Player.
Chasing a modest goal of 193, India's batting line-up struggled under duress, with the top eight wickets falling in less than 40 overs. Despite the collapse, Jadeja held firm at No. 7, demonstrating incredible resilience and composure alongside tailenders Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
The trio batted for more than 34 overs, frustrating England's bowlers. Bumrah faced 54 deliveries for his five, while Siraj fought through 30 balls for his four before being bowled by Shoaib Bashir. India were bowled out for 170 in 74.5 overs, giving up a 1-2 lead in the five-match series.
BCCI shared a video in tribute to Ravindra Jadeja’s brilliance in which members of the Indian team laud the fight from the Saurashtra all-rounder and praise his enormous talent.
"That was an incredible fight. The fight from Jaddu was absolutely brilliant," Gambhir said in a video titled 'The MVP ft. Ravindra Jadeja, shared by the BCCI on Friday.
India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate highlighted Jadeja's evolution with the bat, praising his maturity and technique.
"His batting has reached another level. In the last two Tests, the consistency and calmness he brought to the dressing room... I've watched him for so many years, and the way he has developed his game - his defence is rock solid, he looks like a proper batter," Doeschate remarked.
Those remarks were mirrored by Jadeja's former Saurashtra teammate, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, who praised his temperament under pressure.
"I always felt he had the ability to handle pressure. With so much experience, he usually delivers what the team needs in challenging conditions. He's really, really valuable to the team," Kotak said.
On the other hand, pacer Mohammed Siraj stated: “It's very difficult to find a player like him and we're lucky to have someone of his calibre in our team.”
Even captain Shubman Gill had lauded Jadeja in the post-match conference and said, "He is one of the most valuable players for India. The skillset he brings - his batting, bowling, and fielding - he's someone very rare to find. The way Jaddu bhai batted was a proud effort. The character and courage they showed were tremendous.”
