India was reduced to 82/7 by England bowlers on day five.
However, Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes rattled Indian hopes of an easy win. Archer first accounted for Rishabh Pant (9) with an excellent delivery, and then Stokes had KL Rahul out LBW for 33 runs. Archer then hurt India more when he took an excellent return catch of Washington Sundar (0).
This left Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy as the last recognized batting pair for India, with more than 100 runs needed for the win.
On the last ball of the 35th over, Jadeja ran a Brydon Carse short ball towards third man, and while taking the first run, Jadeja, who was looking at the ball, ran into Carse, who was also ball watching. Carse wasn’t happy at all and had a go at Jadeja, who replied back in kind.
Both faced off with verbal volleys at each other, only for the umpires and Ben Stokes to get in between them to separate them.
