Jasprit Bumrah took 5/74 as England made 387 runs in their first innings at Lord's.
India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah reached a crucial milestone by gaining a position on the Honors Boards after taking five wickets against England in the third Test of the five-match series on Friday at Lord's Cricket Ground in London.
His outstanding bowling effort helped India confine England to 387 runs in their first innings, with India finishing Day 2 on 145/3.
Bumrah dismissed Harry Brook before taking four more wickets from Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Chris Woakes, and Jofra Archer, completing his fifer and earning a spot on the coveted Lord's Honors Boards.
In a video posted by the BCCI on social media, Bumrah returned to the dressing room surrounded by hugs. He later signed a pair of shoes for the Lord's Museum.
Later, Bumrah was interviewed by the BBC Sport and what he thought about his name going on the Lord’s Honors Board. He said it was special and it was something that he could tell his son Angad when he grows up.
"It feels really special because we don't come here very often. We don't play a lot of Test matches here. We come here maybe every four years. So you never know how many matches you'll get to play here. As a child, you've seen a lot of Test cricket played here. So now, being on the honors board feels good.
“Reality is, I was tired. I can’t jump around like a 21-year-old. I was happy that I contributed. The name on the Honors board feels good. It is something I can tell my son about when he is grown up,” said Bumrah on BBC Sport.
The Indian bowling attack showed a collective effort, with Mohammed Siraj and Nitish Kumar Reddy supporting Bumrah with two wickets each.
Meanwhile, India made 145/3 at the end of the second day’s play with KL Rahul on 53* and Rishabh Pant on 19*. Yashasvi Jaiswal (13), Karun Nair (40), and Shubman Gill (16) were the wickets India lost.
