Mohammed Siraj was extremely unhappy with the changed ball given to India.
On Day 2 of the third India vs. England match on Friday, the poor quality of the Dukes ball once again took center stage. Mohammed Siraj and India captain Shubman Gill engaged the umpire in a heated argument about the subpar ball that was supplied.
On Thursday, the second new ball was taken at the 80-over point. India was dissatisfied with the new ball's state on Friday because it was just about ten overs old. When the ball did not pass the hoop test, the umpires replaced it.
Gill didn't like the replacement ball either, so he began a heated conversation with the umpire.
“This is 10-overs old ball? Seriously?" Siraj was heard saying on the stump mic.
Gill was so enraged that he took the ball out of the umpire's hands and started talking to him. However, the umpire rejected his claims.
"Even from here you can see that it is not a 10 over old ball, that is like a 20 over old ball," Sunil Gavaskar supported India's claim from the commentary box.
