Shubman Gill’s hilarious remark was caught on the stump mic and it quickly went viral.
India skipper Shubman Gill motivated his fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, in a hilarious manner on Day 5 of the first Test match against England at Headingley, Leeds.
Both Siraj and Krishna were bowling from either ends during the first session, with the hosts in pursuit of chasing a massive target of 371 runs.
The pace duo was in a middle of a good spell at the beginning of the session as England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley were circumspect against them.
To encourage them during their fiery spell, captain Gill quipped, "Ek taraf se Mohammad hai, ek taraf se Krishna, dono tabahi macha rahe hain", which roughly translates as, “At one end, we have Mohammed and at the other, Krishna — and both of them are wreaking havoc.”
Shubman Gill’s remark was caught on the stump mic and it quickly went viral on social media platforms.
India were unable to make a breakthrough in the morning session on Day 5, as England went into lunch with 117/0 on the board.
In the second session, Prasidh Krishna drew the first blood for the tourists, removing Crawley on 65. With two sessions still to play, the game continues to hang in balance with all three results possible.
