KL Rahul slammed his ninth Test ton in the second innings of Leeds Test.
In the second essay, the right-hander made his start count as he slammed a stunning hundred on Monday (June 23) to put the visitors in the driver’s seat.
Rahul, who was unbeaten at 47* overnight, reached the three-figure mark during the second session of the fourth day’s play. He notched up the milestone on the final delivery of the 62nd over off Shoaib Bashir.
Rahul was overjoyed after scoring his ninth Test ton as he kissed the crest on his India helmet and then hugged his partner in the middle, Rishabh Pant. He was duly appreciated by the Indian dressing room and the Headingley crowd.
At the time of writing this article, Rahul and Pant have added an unbroken 162-run stand for the fourth wicket, with the latter also nearing his second century of the match.
The wicketkeeper-batter, who slammed 134 in the first innings, was batting on 96. The duo helped the tourists extend their lead to 260 runs with seven wickets in hand.
For his classy hundred, KL Rahul received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on social media.
