India A made 557 runs batting first with Nair making 204 runs.
The first unofficial Test between India A and England Lions at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury saw Indian batters making merry. India A made 557 runs in their first innings, after being asked to bat first.
Karun Nair starred with 204 runs, while Sarfaraz Khan (92) and Dhruv Jurel (94) missed well-deserved centuries. Josh Hull and Zaman Akhtar picked up three wickets each for England Lions.
In response, England Lions batters also pummeled the India A bowling as Tom Haines (171), Max Holden (101), and Dan Mousley scored centuries as they scored 533/8 at the time of writing this piece.
Haines was looking dangerous until a brilliance in the field by Sarfaraz Khan ended his innings. On the fourth ball of the 100th over, Shardul Thakur bowled a full delivery on off-stump, and Haines tried to drive the ball hard.
He ended up edging the ball towards slips, where Sarfaraz Khan flew to his left and took an excellent one-handed diving catch. This surprised the Indian teammates, and they celebrated a lot.
