Hardik Pandya, the Indian all-rounder, has finally shut the mouth of his critics after a brilliant performance with both the ball and the bat in the ongoing third Test between India and England at Trent Bridge.

Pandya had first taken his first ever five-wicket haul in Test matches in the first innings of England. Supported wonderfully by Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, Pandya ran through the England batting lineup to pick up 5 wickets in just 29 balls, to finish with figures of 5/28.

Then when it the time came for him to bat, Pandya wielded his willow to gather as many runs as possible and ended up making 52* in 52 balls by the time Virat Kohli declared, to set England a target of 521 runs to get in two days time.

With his double of 52* and 5/28, Hardik Pandya has now joined an elite list of Indian all-rounders to achieve the same feat. The list includes the likes of Kapil Dev, Vinoo Mankad, Lala Amarnath and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (twice).

India declared its second innings on 352 for 7 with Kohli top-scoring with 103 while Cheteshwar Pujara made 72 and Pandya remained unbeaten on 52.

Here is the list of Indian all-rounders to score a fifty and take a five-wicket haul in the same Test match:

Lala Amarnath - 50 and 5/118 at Lord's, 1946
Vinoo Mankad - 72 + 184 and 5/196 at Lord's, 1952
Kapil Dev - 89 and 5/125 at Lord's, 1982
Bhuvneshwar Kumar - 58 + 63* and 5/82 at Trent Bridge, 2014
Bhuvneshwar Kumar - 52 and 6/82 at Lord's, 2014
Hardik Pandya - 52* and 5/28 at Trent Bridge, 2018
