ENG v IND 2018: Bhuvneshwar Kumar reportedly ruled out of the remainder of the England Test series

Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will reportedly miss the remainder of the England Test series, as the team prepares for the third Test at Nottingham.

The news from Bengaluru and Nottingham has allegedly revealed that the fast bowler has not recovered enough to be available for the last two Tests, the squad for which will be announced after the Trent Bridge match.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), but his recovery has been slow and is not available for selection for the final two Tests of the series. At the time of announcing the squad for the first three Tests, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had said that he could be available for the last two games.

However, there is good news for the Indian team, that Jasprit Bumrah has been reportedly deemed fully fit for the third Test at Trent Bridge and for the team management; the worrying issue is the batting. With the team failing to last even 90 overs at Lord’s, the concern is over runs, not wickets.

Immediately after the Lord’s Test, there was a long meeting where some tough talking was done by the seniors and it was felt that the team should approach the series as a three-Test contest.

We’ve agreed that we messed up in Lord’s and got outplayed. But the fact was when we batted the conditions were damp and when we bowled, the weather was sunny. It is not an excuse but the fact was the luck was not on our side,” the source said.
