Team India’s solitary warm-up match before the all-important five-Test series against Essex ended in a draw on Friday (July 27).

Apart from the valuable match practice, the three-day warm-up game also came up with an opportunity for the Indian players to flaunt their dancing skills.

In a video posted by Essex County Cricket Club on Twitter, India skipper Virat Kohli and opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan could be seen showing off their bhangra skills while coming out to take the field on Friday. All the Indian players were greeted to the ground by traditional dhol beats.

Here’s the video:

Coming to the match, India made 395 all-out in their first innings, courtesy a number of half-centuries. The likes of Murali Vijay (53), Virat Kohli (68), KL Rahul (58), Dinesh Karthik (82) and Hardik Pandya (51) had a fruitful outing with the bat.

Indian bowlers, however, couldn’t bowl out Essex in 94 overs. The Tom Westley led side declared their innings on 359/8. Umesh Yadav was the stand-out bowler for India, claiming 4 wickets for 35 runs in his 14 overs. The lanky pacer Ishant Sharma also scalped 3 wickets.

India were 89/2 in their second innings when the rain arrived and eventually the match was abandoned as a draw.

The five-Test series between England and India will commence on August 1 at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
