It will truly be a great occasion when England and India step on the field at Edgbaston on August 1, as the game marks the 1000th Test match in the history of home side's cricket. In 1877, England played its first game against Australia and will be playing their 1000th against India in 2018, in between all these years there have been some great contests, wins and losses, memories to savour for the players that have played for the three lions.

This, in many ways, tells you something about how dearly England have kept the red-ball game close to its heart. Due to the prestigiousness of it all, the BBC introduced a poll on their website. It gave the users a chance to vote for their top 10 test matches involving England. The choices ranged from the first ever Ashes Test to the bodyline test to Jim Laker‘s 19 wickets in a Test. It also involved India vs England Test in Mumbai very well remembered for Kevin Pietersen‘s magnificent century.

This is when, England fast-bowler Stuart Broad voted his favourite Test for the country. Broad chose the famous 2005 Ashes Test in Edgbaston as the game most close to his heart. Broad didn't play this game, as he was yet to make his debut then, but he must have been delighted with England clinching the victory in a very tight contest by just 2 runs.

He also mentioned Trent Bridge 2015 Ashes Test for obvious reasons, having bowled one of the most memorable spells in recent times. His 8 for 15 ensured England gets their arch-rivals all out for an embarrassing score of just 60 and laid the foundation of his team's huge win.

Broad took the social media network Twitter and posted,
