India’s ace batter Cheteshwar Pujara continued his purple patch in the English county championship as he struck his seventh century for Sussex in just his 11th match for the county club, this time against Gloucestershire which is being played at the County Ground in Bristol.

After losing openers Ali Orr (36) and Tom Haines (3), Cheteshwar Pujara got to work with Tom Alsop and added 100 runs for the third wicket, as Alsop fell for 67 runs. Then Pujara got supports from James Coles and the duo worked towards building a big total in the first innings.

Pujara was on 99* at the end of day 2 of the game and as soon as the third day started, the Indian batter completed the century, which is his second in the ongoing 2023 County Championship.

“I hope to carry on from here”- Cheteshwar Pujara after his sixth hundred for Sussex in English County Championship

Pujara reached his hundred off 191 balls on Day 3, and earlier he had slammed 115 on his Sussex full-time captaincy debut at Hove against Durham.
