Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) President has reportedly sacked the senior men's selection committee after receiving many complaints about this selection panel.

DDCA director Shyam Sharma wrote a letter to the DDCA President Rohan Jaitley explaining how selectors are dictating the selection of the players and are incompetently running the process.

On Thursday, selectors Gagan Khoda, the committee chief, and Mayank Sidana had a public fallout, leading to Sidana staging a walkout of a meeting to pick Delhi's Under-25 squad for the upcoming CK Nayudu Trophy fixture.

The pair is also believed to have disagreed on a number of selections made for Delhi's Ranji Trophy squad for their match against Saurashtra, which they lost by an innings and 214 runs, in which Jaydev Unadkat picked 8/39 including a hat-trick in the first over itself and the team had lost its 6 wickets for just five runs.

The DDCA director further explained its decision to sack the selection committee saying that the incapability to follow orders and orchestrating puzzling selection decisions led to the expulsion.

"They are not doing well for Delhi cricket their bizarre decisions are killing our cricket, imagine how can they drop a centurion in the next match by giving a baseless excuse. They didn't even follow the orders of the board. We told them to travel with 16 players but they are carrying 22 players. They don't inform us before taking any decision, so the President of DDCA decided to sack them" the DDCA director told ANI.

He was also optimistic about the Delhi team starting on a fresh note after a disastrous Ranji Trophy season.

"This year of Ranji season has ended for the Delhi team but we have to play the rest of the matches at the tournament. Unfortunately, we ended this season on a bad note but our new panel led by former cricketer Madan Lal will select the new panel soon and we will start on a fresh note soon," added Sharma.

For now, DDCA's Cricket Advisory Committee comprising Nikhil Chopra, Gursharan Singh, and Reema Malhotra will select the team for the remainder of the season.

Delhi had previously failed to qualify for the knockouts of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and then lost to Vidarbha in the quarter-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in T20s.
