India U19 World Cup-winning Yash Dhull started his First-Class career on an auspicious note as he slammed a century for debut in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2022 against Tamil Nadu on February 17.

The match which is being played at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara, saw Tamil Nadu captain Vijay Shankar winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.

Sandeep Warrier struck twice in one over to remove opener Dhruv Shorey (1) and Himmat Singh for a golden duck. But Yash Dhull, on debut, continued to stroke his way showing maturity way beyond his age.

He then added 60 runs with Nitish Rana for the third wicket, who made 25 and fell to M Mohammed. Dhull and Jonty Sidhu got together and took the attack to Tamil Nadu bowlers while steadying the Delhi innings. The duo added more than 100 runs to the partnership.

He brought up his fifty in just 57 balls and then continued on, finally reaching the magical three-figure mark in 133 balls with 16 fours to his name.

Yash Dhull is already being seen as a tremendous talent and followed the footsteps of another U19 World Cup-winning captain, Prithvi Shaw, who had scored a century on his First-Class debut, for Mumbai in the semi-finals of Ranji Trophy 2016-17.
