Veteran England pacer James Anderson added another feather to his cap as he reached the 1000 first-class wickets landmark on Monday (July 5).

The 38-year-old achieved the monumental feat during Lancashire's County Championship game against Kent. He dismissed Heino Kuhn on duck to accomplish the exclusive milestone.

Anderson's fiery morning spell of seven for 19 in 10 overs saw Lancashire bundling out Kent for a paltry 74 in their second innings.

With this herculean bowling performance, Anderson became only the 14th bowler to claim 1000 first-class wickets this century and just the fifth paceman after Andy Caddick (in 2005), Martin Bicknell (in 2004), Devon Malcolm (in 2002) and Wasim Akram (in 2001).

Having picked up 617 scalps from 162 Test matches, Anderson is already the fourth highest wicket-taker in the longest format of the game. He is the leading wicket-taker among the fast bowlers.
