After David Warner and Marcus Stoinis, another Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell has pulled out of the inaugural edition of ECB's The Hundred competition. Maxwell who was signed by London Spirit have found the replacement of the all-rounder in Western Australia's Josh Inglis.

The right-hand explosive batsman who was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) has also pulled out of Australia's upcoming white-ball tours of West Indies and Bangladesh.

Former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne who is also the London Spirit coach confirmed the news while speaking in a Fox Cricket podcast.

Devon Conway and Quinton de Kock joins the Southern Brave for The Hundred

Unfortunately Glenn Maxwell has pulled out of the Hundred. We were really excited to get him in the draft. We know he's a match-winner and we were excited to have him. Unfortunately he's pulled out of that and we've now replaced him with Josh Inglis from Western Australia, so we are lucky to have him,” Warne said.

Inglis became the first-choice replacement of Maxwell after he was surprisingly overlooked for Australia's white-ball tours despite his performances in both the Big Bash League and the Marsh One-day Cup.

To add to Inglis’ case, he is already in the UK playing for Leicestershire in the T20 Blast. So far, Inglis has scored 269 runs at an average of 44.83 and a strike rate of 174.67, including an unbeaten hundred against Northamptonshire last week.

The tournament kicks off on July 21, and the men's sides will have a chance to finalise their squads with the signing of a local player each in the Hundred's wildcard draft that is due on July 2.
