Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans fast bowler Shahnawaz Dhani has been receiving applauds from all quarters for his stunning performance in the ongoing PSL 2021, and now former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar showered rich praise on the young sensation.
At the moment, Dhani is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing PSL 06 with 20 wickets from 9 games at an economy rate of 8.19. He hails from Larkana and became a national sensation due to his stunning performance in the PSL 2021.
In an interview with Geo News, Akhtar said: “It is heartening to see crickets hailing from all over Pakistan playing in the league. It is my wish to have these new players come to the forefront and play.”

He lauded young players like Daniyal Aziz, Iftikhar Ahmad, and Asad Ali along with Dhani for their brilliant performances in the PSL 2021. Akhtar was particularly “very impressed” with Dhani and advised the newcomer to stay fit and keep training to make sure doing an amazing job for Pakistan.
The 45-year-old further added, “My heart especially goes out to Shahnawaz Dhani. Shahnawaz, make sure you do an amazing job for Pakistan.”
On the top teams in the PSL 06, Akhtar has declared Peshawar Zalmi to be a ruthless team but said it would be interesting to see Karachi King’s retaliating in the final phase of the T20 league.
He has pointed out Islamabad United’s ability to learn and adapt quickly as their greatest strength. Akhtar signed off by saying, “All players [in Islamabad United] chip in and take responsibility to take the team forward.”
