WATCH - Thisara Perera becomes first Sri Lankan to smash six sixes in an over in List-A game

Perera became the 9th batsman to hit six sixes in an over and scored the 2nd fastest List-A fifty as well.

Sri Lanka’s big-hitting left-hander Thisara Perera became the first batsman from his country to hit six sixes in an over in senior cricket. He achieved the feat during the SLC's domestic 50-over Major Clubs tournament.

He captains the Sri Lanka Army Sports Club and recorded the feat of hitting six consecutive sixes in an over against Bloomsfield bowler Dilhan Cooray.

During the course, he reached his fifty in just 13 balls, hitting 8 sixes in process, which is the second-fastest half-century in List A cricket, with Sri Lanka’s Kaushalya Weeraratne holding the record with a 12-ball fifty for Ragana Cricket Club against Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club in November 2005.

Sri Lanka Army Sports Club captain Thisara Perera came into bat with 20 balls remaining in the 41-overs per-side match and slammed 8 sixes in the 13 balls he faced, with Cooray going for 73 runs in his 4 overs.

Perera is the 9th batsman to achieve the feat of six sixes in an over with the other eight being- Sir Garfield Sobers, Ravi Shastri, Herschelle Gibbs, Yuvraj Singh, Ross Whiteley, Hazratullah Zazai, Leo Carter, and Kieron Pollard.
