England cricket board has been strict about their COVID-19 protocols. Earlier, they dropped Jofra Archer for a Test against the West Indies after he breached the bio-secure bubble.

Now, Kent’s young batsman Jordan Cox had to face the consequences for his actions after scoring an unbeaten 238 against Sussex. He broke the social distancing rule by posing for a selfie with fans after a match-winning knock.

Jordan became the first 21st-century born player to hit a First-Class century on English soil. He was so happy after the innings that he didn't realize going out of the bio-secure bubble.

The 19-year-old takes full responsibility for his action and he has also apologized to everyone for letting them down. "I fully understand the consequences, and I want to apologize to everyone. I am gutted to be missing the next match and feel I have let the team down. I am very sorry that this has happened.”, he said.

While the cricket club’s director of cricket Paul Downton also said, “It is unfortunate for Jordan that on the back of outstanding performance, our team medical protocols were breached. We take these protocols very seriously and Jordan has no choice but to go into self-isolation.”

Cox will now have to go through a Covid-19 Test and he will have to get a negative result to join the team again.
