The semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2020 will be played from February 29.
Gujarat will meet Saurashtra in the first semi-final at Rajkot, while Bengal will face Karnataka in the second match in Kolkata, with both matches starting on February 29.
Bengal had set Odisha a target of 456 runs to win after being bowled out for 373. Odisha could only bat 10 overs before umpires stopped the play due to bad light in Cuttack. Anustup Majumdar’s 157 and Shahbaz Ahmed’s 82 were the highlights of Bengal’s first innings, while Abhishek Kumar Raman, Shreevats Goswami, and Shahbaz Ahmed scored fifties in the second innings.
Saurashtra added 55 runs to their overnight score of 371/6 and was all out for 426 against Andhra, setting them a mammoth 710-run target to win. Both the teams decided to shake hands after Andhra scored 149/4.
Karnataka managed to beat Jammu and Kashmir despite there being very little play on the first two days of the quarterfinal in Jammu. Karnataka made 316 and asked J&K to chase down the 329-run target.
K Gowtham then came to fore and picked 7/54 and reduced the Parvez Rasool-led team to just 163 and won the match by 167 runs, sending Karnataka into the semis.
