BBL 09: WATCH- Steve Smith survives a hit-wicket appeal against Melbourne Stars at MCG

Sydney Sixers ended up winning the match by 46 runs at Melbourne.

Australia’s Big Bash League is known as one of the most happening T20 leagues in the world. Friday’s (31 January) match between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars saw one such incident in which Steve Smith survived a hit-wicket appeal.

While the Sixers were batting in the 8th over delivered by Star’s bowler Haris Rauf, Smith who was on strike and he ducked to a bouncer in a weird fashion and the bails lit up and Stars started celebrating thinking Smith was hit wicket.

But the replays showed that it was the wind that caused the bails to fall and thus, the 30-year-old survived the hit wicket appeal.

The Sixers ended up winning the match by 43-runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
