Former Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary has continued his good run in domestic cricket and slammed a brilliant triple ton in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2020 match against Hyderabad in a Group C bout on Monday, January 20.

Tiwary counter-attacked the Hyderabad seamers as he scored freely, hitting 30 fours and five sixes in his 412-ball unbeaten knock. The innings was a masterpiece from the right-hander and he batted with a specially customized bat during this knock. The 34-year-old right-hander did survive a scare when Hyderabad’s Ravi Kiran dropped him in the 105th over of Bengal’s innings.

Tiwary spoke to PTI and said, “I will rate as one of my favorite innings, maybe in top-seven as I have five times double hundred before this. This knock was however very special. It came in a crucial stage.”

I was playing well, but a big knock was due. I had a back spasm against Kerala. I knew I was doing well in batting and this was due. Given the situation, this is one of my best innings,” he further added.

Bengal declared on 635/7 with Tiwary on 303*, while Sreevats Goswami made 95. Anustup Majumdar and Arnab Nandi made half-centuries as well.
