Triggered by that, Ashwin and the rest of his teammates surrounded the pitch before umpire Pandit walked up to the senior spinner for a chat. In the meantime, square leg umpire Anil Dandekar was trying to calm down the visibly upset and angry Vijay by holding his hands.
It was later confirmed by the TN team management that Vijay has been fined 10% of his match fee.
Actually, there were quite a few instances when the decisions went against Tamil Nadu on the day, leaving the likes of Ashwin, Vijay and wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan aggrieved.
Karnataka scored 259/6 after electing to bat until stumps with Devdutt Padikkal (78) and Pavan Deshpande (65) scoring half-centuries.
For Tamil Nadu, the team's debutant, left-arm spinner M Siddharth got a couple of breakthroughs while Ashwin, K Vignesh and B Aparajith took a wicket each.
