Shubman Gill will captain India in three ODIs and two Tests on the New Zealand tour.
Vihaan Malhotra (40) and Harnoor Singh (20) gave a solid start to Punjab, and captain Saharan made 18 runs. Shubman Gill came in at no. 4 for Punjab, and it was expected he would score some runs before traveling to New Zealand for the ODI series and Test matches.
However, Ajay Mandal, who had dismissed Harnoor Singh for 20 runs, got the better of Shubman Gill, who managed only one run in five balls. Mandal, a left-arm spinner, bowled a straight-arm ball to Gill, who played a forward defense shot.
However, Gill missed the delivery, and the ball hit the timber, and Mandal celebrated the wicket with gusto. Gill was left a bit stunned at missing the straight ball after getting bowled.
