Jammu and Kashmir are facing Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final in Hubli.
The Paras Dogra-led J&K side is currently facing Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final at KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground.
"It is a very big moment for us to reach the final because this is the first time J-K has reached the final of the Ranji Trophy. Many people said that they could not go beyond this stage. But the way they performed in the first innings, we are expecting to win the trophy from here," Abdullah told media on the sidelines of the Ranji Trophy final.
"I think it is time our players are invited or asked to play for the country. One or two of them definitely deserve to wear the Indian colours," he added.
Jammu and Kashmir are in total control of the Ranji Trophy final, finishing Day 4 with an imposing overall lead of 477 runs.
Replying to their formidable first-innings total of 584, Karnataka resumed the penultimate day at 220/5 and relied heavily on skipper Mayank Agarwal, who slammed 160 off 266 deliveries with 21 boundaries.
Auqib Nabi starred with the ball for J&K as he brought up 60 wickets for the season to become the leading wicket-taker of the current Ranji Trophy campaign, finishing with figures of 5/54 to bowl Karnataka out for 293.
Earlier, J&K racked up 584 runs in their first innings on the back of a dominant batting performance where five batters scored 50-plus runs. Key contributions included a 121-run knock from Shubham Pundir and a significant score of 72 from Sahil Lotra.
Qamran Iqbal (94* off 160 balls) and Sahil Lotra (16* off 41 balls) were unbeaten at stumps on Day 4 as J&K extended their lead to 477 runs and inched closer to a historic maiden Ranji Trophy title.
