CWC 2019: Team India achieves no.1 spot in ICC ODI team rankings

England has lost three matches so far in the World Cup leading to their demotion in rankings.

There is some good news for the Team India fans as the team has become the no.1 ranked side in the latest ICC ODI team rankings. England, the hosts of the ICC World Cup 2019 came into the tournament as the no.1 ranked side and were considered favorites to make into the semi-finals easily based on their recent form.

However, they have lost three of their seven matches and sit at the fourth spot in the points table, and in the process have lost their no.1 ranking in ODIs which they held since May 2018. The Indian team which held the no.2 position for quite some time, is now the numero Uno side in the format, as they are yet to lose a match in the tournament out of five played so far.

Team India is already the no.1 side in the ICC Test rankings and now reach the pinnacle of ODI format as well. This might boost their confidence going into their next World Cup match against West Indies.
