Brathwaite had almost pulled off a victory for West Indies but fell 5 runs short.
Carlos Brathwaite almost won a thriller for his team against England on Saturday. The West Indies batsman scored a hundred while his team was chasing 292. Brathwaite stood alone, fighting for the win until the last ball of 49th over.
At one stage, West Indies were struggling at 142/4 but went on to compete for the result all thanks to Brathwaite.
Brathwaite, who is famous for consecutive four sixes in the T20 World Cup final in 2016, had almost got WI through. They needed 6 runs in 7 balls and he tried to hit a six but ended up getting caught on the boundary.
Ben Stokes, the England all-rounder, was the victim in 2016 off Brathwaite thought he would repeat it again. His tweet read, “First it was Virat now it’s @TridentSportsX is clogging up my mentions,I wonder why???that was a unbelievable innings Carlos thought it was going to be a repeat of 2016 in Kolkata…how good was that game by the way”.
