Rishabh Pant was upset after being left out of India's World Cup 2019 squad on April 15. A little over two months later, Pant has replaced an injured Shikhar Dhawan in the team and might feature in India’s next clash against Afghanistan at Southampton on Saturday (June 22).

Ahead of the match, recently retired India batsman Yuvraj Singh sent positive vibes for Pant through a tweet.

“Pad up boy…You’re In! @RishabPant777,” Yuvi wrote on his official Twitter page.

While thanking Yuvraj for his best wishes, Pant said he is willing to do anything for Team India.

“@YUVSTRONG12 Thank You Yuvi paaji ???? Team ke liye kuch bhi,” Pant replied.

Dhawan had suffered a thumb injury during his match-winning 117 against Australia on June 9. After observing the left-handed opener for almost 10 days, the Indian team management decided to replace him with Rishabh Pant on Wednesday (June 19).

Having made his ODI debut against the West Indies last year, Pant has represented India in 5 ODIs thus far. The southpaw was in fabulous form during the recently held Indian Premier Legate for Delhi Capitals. He had amassed 488 runs from 16 runs in the cash-rich event at a strike rate of 162.66.
