Team India put on a complete show to register a convincing 36-run victory over Australia in their second World Cup 2019 clash at The Oval on Sunday (June 9).

Opting to bat first, the Men in Blue rode on Shikhar Dhawan‘s sparkling century (117 off 109 balls), Rohit Sharma (57 off 70 balls) and Virat Kohli’s (82 off 77 balls) measured fifties to pile up a mammoth 352/5 on the board.

Defending the total, pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah claimed three wickets each while wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal chipped in with a couple of scalps as India eventually bundled out the defending champions in the last delivery of the innings on 316.

It was India’s second consecutive win the quadrennial event. In their first match, they had outclassed South Africa by 6 wickets in Southampton June 5.

As expected, the Indian players were pretty thrilled after the comprehensive victory. Virat Kohli and company took to micro-blogging site Twitter to rejoice their success.
