Some of the teams in the ICC World Cup will have to wear two different jerseys in the course of the tournament. Team India wear their primary blue jersey, but now will be unveiling their new jersey which has orange as the predominant colour.

The Indian jersey has not been designed so far. The marketing team is still working on the design and it will be unveiled during the course of the tournament.

A BCCI source told PTI, “The BCCI marketing team is still working on the design and the jersey will be unveiled very soon.

India will be wearing their orange jersey while playing against teams that also have blue-dominant jerseys. They will wear it on 30 June against England and also against Afghanistan.

An ICC release mentioned, “For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event, the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match.

This idea of two different jerseys has been inspired by club football in which players choose their colour on a home and away basis.
