India is playing all of their CT 2025 matches in Dubai under hybrid model.
Australia Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins, who is missing the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tournament due to injury, has denied giving any statement that mentioned that India has an advantage over other teams as they play all of their matches in one venue- Dubai.
India has been placed in Group A with Pakistan, New Zealand, and Bangladesh and they have defeated Bangladesh and Pakistan in Dubai. They will play New Zealand on March 2 in Dubai and have qualified for the semi-finals as well.
India will play the semi-final and if they win, the final in Dubai as well. Pat Cummins stated that it was a huge advantage for the Rohit Sharma-led team as they were playing in only one venue, while the Group B teams England, Afghanistan, Australia, and South Africa play at three different venues in Pakistan.
“I think it’s good in that the tournament can go on, but obviously it does give them (India) a huge advantage playing on the same ground. They already look very strong and they’ve got that obvious benefit of playing all their games there,” Pat Cummins told Yahoo Australia.
However, Code Cricket Australia shared a creative on story saying that Pat Cummins has shared his thoughts on India not playing in Pakistan and hosting all their matches in Dubai controversy.
“Pakistan is the official host country for the ICC tournament. But India will play every game in Dubai, including their 6-wicket win over Pakistan. And Pat Cummins has shared his thoughts on the controversy,” Code Cricket Australia posted on X, with a link to the article.
However, Cummins refuted that and quoted the post by Code Cricket Australia and denied saying anything like that.
“I have definitely never said this @codecricketau”- Cummins stated.
