Bumrah also received his ICC awards at the hands of chief Jay Shah.
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah met with the Indian team in Dubai ahead of their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match against Pakistan in Dubai on February 23, 2025. Bumrah, who was ruled out of the tournament owing to a back injury, also received his ICC awards.
In recent years, Bumrah has been India's best player across all three game types, but he has been a major disappointment for the Indian squad in the event.
Before stating that this was something new for him because he has always been with the team, Bumrah was seen making a joke with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, in a video posted by the ICC's Instagram account.
After that, Bumrah met with Virat Kohli, who inquired about his back condition.
"Back is ok?" asked Kohli. Bumrah replied: “All good”. Both men then talked about the weather conditions in Dubai, which was hotter than the previous game.
He also interacted with fellow pacer Mohammad Shami, who is leading the Indian pace attack in Bumrah’s absence. He then joked around with Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya. Bumrah also shared a hug with former India opener Shikhar Dhawan.
Here is the video:
Despite of Bumrah's unavailability, India managed to dismiss Pakistan for 241 runs. Hardik contributed two wickets, while Kuldeep Yadav claimed three. Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 46, provided support for Pakistan's Saud Shakeel, who top-scored 62 runs.
A win here for India will mean they qualify for the semi-finals, while a loss here will eliminate Pakistan from the tournament.
