Virat Kohli has scored a century in second innings in Perth Test, but failed elsewhere.
Virat Kohli has captured the hearts of a generation of fans thanks to his amazing batting and fitness prowess. He might not have done much barring a century in the ongoing BGT 2024 Test series, but Kohli got introduced by an Aussie dad to his kid in an adorable way.
The footage was taken during India's net practices at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), ahead of the Boxing Day Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Australia.
Kohli was batting in the net farthest from the public's view, merely practicing leaving balls outside off, but it became a memorable occasion for a father-son combination.
“Alright, so, Jamie, look over there, you see that fourth batsman right at the end? His name is Virat Kohli. He’s the best batsman in the whole world," the dad says in the video.
This is expected to be the Indian superstar's final Test return to Australia, where he hit his first Test century in 2012 and began his Test captaincy career in 2014.
Kohli's record on the field has been uneven, with an undefeated century in the second innings of India's first Test in Perth, which India won, but no runs in the other four innings.
India will be hoping he can take inspiration from his previous exploits at the MCG and return to form. He has scored 316 runs in three matches here, at an average of 52.67. He has three fifty-plus scores and one duck in his last four innings at the venue, including 169 (272) in 2014.
The fourth Test in Melbourne begins on December 26.
