The incident unfolded in the 78th over of India’s first innings at the Gabba.
India’s fightback in the third Test against Australia at the Gabba also included a funny moment, featuring Akash Deep, who helped the visitors avoid the follow-on alongside Jasprit Bumrah on Day 4.
The duo of Akash and Bumrah (10*) put up a defiant 47-run stand for the last wicket before the former was dismissed for 31 in the first session on Day 5.
During his entertaining knock, Akash Deep dropped the ball on the ground in front of Travis Head after it lodged in his pads. His act left the Aussie batter perplexed and annoyed at the same time.
Realizing his mistake, Akash said "sorry sorry" to Head, prompting laughter from the commentators. Head also saw the funny side of it and gave a wry smile.
The incident unfolded in the 78th over of India’s first innings. In the next over, Travis Head had Akash Deep stumped by Alex Carey as India’s innings folded for 260.
Australia took a significant lead of 185 runs and then went on to declare their second innings on 89/7 to set a target of 275 for the tourists in a minimum of 54 overs.
However, rain forced the two teams to walk off once again and have the Tea break early, with India on 8/0 after 2.1 overs.
