The BGT 2024 will begin with Australia taking on India on November 22 in Peth in 1st Test
The BGT 2024 (Border-Gavaskar Trophy) between Australia and India is being celebrated in desi style by Australian media. News Corp Australia has announced an eight-page wrap featuring Virat Kohli on the front pages in English, Hindi and Punjabi in their print and digital editions to cover the five Tests of the coming Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
The Indian contingent arrived in Australia for the five-Test series, which will happen for the first time since 1991-92. India has been a held the BGT trophy since 2017 onwards and has won their last two Test series in Australia in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
The BGT 2024 will begin in Perth on November 22 onwards, with Adelaide, Brisbane, MCG and SCG hosting the remainder of the Tests respectively.
Virat Kohli's image dominated the front pages as the special edition will be published in News Corp's various publications across Australia and will be available from November 12 onwards.
It also revealed that a "16-page ultimate launch guide" will be published on November 17, "also containing content in Hindi and Punjabi".
India is coming off a 0-3 Test series whitewash at home against New Zealand in order to qualify for the WTC 2025 final without depending on other results, they need to defeat Australia by a margin of 4-0 or 5-0.
Any other result will leave India’s faith in other teams’ hands and a series loss will more or less put them out of the race.
