Jaydev Unadkat’s old tweet went viral on social media after the veteran Saurashtra pacer was reportedly recalled to Team India for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Unadkat, who recently led Saurashtra to Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 title, has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and waited for another chance after his only Test appearance in Centurion against South Africa in 2010.

But Mohammad Shami’s shoulder injury has opened the Test doors for the 31-year-old pacer, as he is now set to return to the Test arena after more than 12 years.

However, the BCCI is yet to make an official announcement regarding Unadkat's inclusion in the Test squad as a replacement for Shami for the Test series against Bangladesh, which begins on December 14, but Cricbuzz and ESPNCricinfo reported that the pacer will soon join the Test squad in Chattogram.

It is being said that Unadkat is currently waiting to complete his visa formalities and will join India’s Test squad in a couple of days in Bangladesh.

After the reports of the Saurashtra skipper being recalled to the Test side came out, his emotional post that he posted on Twitter in January went viral on social media.

On January 4, 2022, Jaydev Unadkat shared a red cherry with the caption, “Dear red ball, please give me one more chance.. I’ll make you proud, promise!”

Well, former Indian cricketer, Wasim Jaffer was quick to notice the post and appreciated the efforts he put in over the years in domestic cricket.

He tweeted, “Trust me JD you've already made the red ball proud by working tirelessly in domestic for over a decade. Congratulations on a well deserved call up to the Test team ???????????? #BANvIND.”
